Kumbala • On the edge of Manne village, in the light near the forest boundary, the house of 69-year-old Vedavathiyamma, who was living alone, will now shine with solar light.

In the Karnataka–Kerala Forest border area, Vedavathiyamma had been living in an old house without electricity.

On pitch-dark nights, when the moon was hidden behind thick clouds and the only sounds were the rustling of leaves and distant animal calls, the dedicated officers of Beef Forest, R.K. Rahul, B.Vineeth, and M. Aathira, had repeatedly joined forces to provide invaluable assistance to a local resident. These officers, known for their unwavering commitment to both wildlife conservation and community support, worked tirelessly in collaboration with the Pugmark Wildlife Conservation and Rescue force.

Under the effective leadership of "Pugmark Wildlife Conservation and Rescue Force" team, they undertook the challenging task of transporting essential materials and equipment up the steep hill. This arduous journey was not without its difficulties; the terrain was rugged, and the darkness made navigation treacherous. Yet, their determination and teamwork shone brightly as they persevered. Once they reached the house, the team set to work with precision and enthusiasm.

They carefully installed solar panels, a sustainable solution that would illuminate the home and significantly improve the quality of life for its inhabitants. The installation process involved not only securing the panels but also ensuring that they were positioned to maximize sunlight exposure throughout the day. As the panels were set up and connected, a palpable sense of excitement filled the air; the promise of light on those previously dark nights was a beacon of hope and progress. This initiative not only provided much-needed illumination but also represented a step toward greater environmental sustainability and energy independence for the community.
